Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad

As presumed this is the top institute in India for MBA. If you ever would like to pursue your MBA, then this institute should be your first preference. You will get the eligibility of getting admission into this top class college of India via CAT. But mind you, you need to get more than 99 percentile; though the cut off is 96.36. The total seats available for filling up are only 380. So you can understand that only cream students can get into this college.

However there are reservations for students who are from SC, ST and OBC. This is not an MBA, but it is equivalent to MBA. It is a Post-Graduation Diploma in Management and the duration is 2 years. As the top most institute in India for MBA, it boasts of being the best in placements among all the MBA colleges in India.

The fees are also very high; the fees for these two years program are Rs. 185, 00,000 in total. The campus is fully air conditioned and hostel and WIFI are also being provided. There are total 33 courses and 25.50 credits for PGDM. Summer Internships are mandatory. The average salary a pass out get from this college within 5 years is Rs. 25.5 lacs per annum. The most placements happen for corporate planning and consulting. Last year total 162 students are being placed in Consulting firms from IIM-A.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta

This is also IIM and the second IIM in India. If you aim to get into this college, you need to score really well in CAT; your aim should be 99 percentile. Though the cut off is less 95. But don’t think about the cut off, think about making it till you get through. There are 462 seats. The institute is approved by Association of Indian Universities. Other than that the college is also accredited by AACSB and AMBA. This is also equivalent to MBA, PGDM is being offered.

The placement of this college is always 100%. The campus is connected via WIFI and the full campus is air conditioned. The fees for this PGDM are lesser than IIM-A. It is Rs. 162, 00,000. The electives being offered are many. Behavioural Sciences, Economics, Finance, Human Resource Management, Management Information System, Marketing, Management Centre for Human Values, Operations Management, Public Policy & Management and Strategic Management are among all the electives being offered to students in IIM-C.

The students, whose family income is less than 5 lacs per annum, are being provided with financial assistance by offering scholarships. The average salary offered for the students who pass out from IIM-C are Rs. 20 lacs per annum. XLRI, Jamshedpur

This is the third best college for MBA in India. Yes, it’s XLRI in Jamshedpur. The people who would like to choose Human Resources as their management specialization should decide to join XLRI. Because this is the best institute for Human Resource students. The two entrance exams you need to give for taking admissions into XLRI are XAT and GMAT. In XAT you need to score more than 90 percentile and in GMAT, your score should be at least 650.

The total seats for this college are 180 only. The fees for this college are even more than IIM-C; it’s Rs. 168, 00,000. There is 100% placement offered once students complete this course. There are 14 electives which are being offered. Economics, Finance, General Management, Human Resource Management, Information Systems, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour, Production, Operations & Decision Sciences and Strategic Management are the most preferred among them.

The average salary being provided is Rs. 18.23 lacs per annum.The most students get places in Human Resources as mentioned in the beginning. If you ever dream of a career in Human Resources, then XLRI should be your number one preference, no compromise.

Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi

If there is one university which will offer you a world class MBA in fees under just Rs. 25,000, then this is it. If you don’t know how to afford the whopping fees of IIMs and XLRI, then your first goal is to be able to enrol in FMS. Why? Because the fees of this college for entire program is just Rs. 20,960. But you need to score very well in CAT, often as good as in for IIMs. The total seats available are 200, out of which 101 are General seats and 99 are reserved seats.

This is a UGC recognized college. There are also 100% placements provided. The electives which are being provided are Finance, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour & Human Resource Management, Production & Operations Management, Entrepreneurship, Information Technology Management and Service Management. The average salary which is being offered to the students is Rs. 23 lacs. The core specialization which fetches the most placements is Sales and Business Development. Last year 62 students are being offered placements in Sales & Business Development.

S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai

The fifth best MBA College in India is S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR). To get an entry into this college you need to sit for CAT and GMAT. In CAT you need to score at least 85 percentile and in GMAT, 600-650. The fees of this college are not very reasonable. The fees are Rs. 140, 00,000. Total seats available for students are only 276. The hostel is within the campus and connected via WIFI.

The electives that are being offered are Finance, Operations, Marketing and Information Management, quite less than any top most college. The average salary that is being offered to the students who have completed the MBA program is Rs. 16.1 lacs. The most students who are offered placements are from IT Software. Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon

This College is number 6th MBA College in India. The Management Development Institute is situated in Gurgaon. But it offers PGPM which is equivalent to MBA. It is AICTE approved ad it is also accredited by AMBA, SAQS and NBA. The fees for MDI are Rs. 149, 10,000. The seats available for PGPM course are 240.

The eligibility for this course is CAT and you need to score more than 85 percentile. Along with 100% placement record and in-campus hostel, it offers free foreign language training. The campus is connected via WIFI and the whole campus is air conditioned. The electives that are being offered are Finance, Information Management, Marketing and Strategy & Operations Management. The average salary that the students is being offered is Rs. 18.5 lacs. The core area which has fetched most placements for this institute is Sales & Business Development.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode

This is the 7th best institute in India. But it doesn’t offer MBA, it offer Post-Graduation Diploma in Management (PGDM). The college is being accredited by AMBA. The fees for this college are 13 lacs. The seats that are available for students to pursue PGDM are 375. The hostels are situated in the campus and the whole campus is air conditioned and connected via WIFI.

The electives which are being offered by this college are Accounting & Control, Economics, Finance, Humanities and Liberal Arts in Management, IT & Systems, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, Quantitative Methods & Operations Management and Strategy. The average salary that is being offered to students who complete the course is 17 lacs per annum. Banking & Insurance is the core area where the college fetches maximum placements. Last year the number of students who got placed in Banking & Insurance is 125.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore

The seventh position is also being taken by IIM, Indore. The eligibility criteria for IIM, Indore is to score at least 90 percentile in CAT. You can also appear for GMAT for getting admission in IIM, Indore. The fees for this college are also 13 lacs. It’s recognized by Association of Indian University.

The fees for getting an entry into this college are 13.5 lacs. Along with the in-campus hostel, it also offers 100% placement assistance. Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Delhi

To get an entry into this college you need to appear for either GMAT or IIFT’s own entrance exam.
